Cigars and tooth?







A cigar is used for smoking which mainly consists of tobacco. Cigars are produced in various shapes and sizes. Cigars consists of 3 components and they are the fillers, the binder leaf [ for holding filler together] and wrapped leaf [ for appearance and flavor this leaf used]. The most odorous chemicals in cigar smoke are pyridines. Cigar smoke is more alkaline than cigarette smoke and is more absorbed readily by mucous membrane of the mouth.

Cigar smoking will cause variety of  oral cancer, pancreatic cancer, esophageal cancer etc...and including cancers of various the lip , tongue, and oral cavity and also associated with various cancers of the pharnyx, esophagus and larynx. Cigar smoke is possibly more toxic than cigarette smoke. The authors found that men who smoke cigars or pipes were at increased risk of experiencing tooth loss. Cigar smokers also causes increased risk of alveolar bone loss.
