STEPS FOR PLACEMENT OF IMPLANT: 1. Edentulous space where implant has to be placed is drilled to desired length for implant placement 2. The gum tissue surrounding the implant is secured to allow the healing of bone 3. Usually healing of bone with implant (osseointegration) takes 8-16 weeks 4. After complete healing procedure the gum is opened and an attached called abutment is added over the implant above the gingival which holds the crown 5. Implant acts as a replacement of natural teeth for long life
