Soft Drinks

#Our elders have been warning us #since we were kids about how soft #drinks and sugary beverages are #bad for our teeth. So as to say, #many of us find it out just how #true were those warnings.
#High intake of carbonated soft drinks will increase erosion of teeth. The #combo of carbonation, higher amount of #sugars and acids within the #beverages do more harm than good for your #smile. It will weaken the tooth #enamel [the protective layer of your tooth and the strongest thing in your body], so it becomes #much easier for the bacteria to harm your teeth eventually #causing decay.
Stop drinking soft drinks is the obvious solution to prevent any damage altogether. But if you can’t resist it then, to lessen the damage have them in moderation, avoid drinking in small sips as the longer time it gets in contact with teeth it has the potential to cause more damage, better use straw for drinking, lastly rinse your mouth thoroughly with water to remove any remaining acids and sugars from your mouth.
Furthermore, do remember to maintain a gap of half an hour to one hour after drinking to brush, as your teeth enamel is already weak after having soft drinks and maintain your regular visits with us at Smile Dental to identify any possible dental issue before hand.
