Hygiene for dental implants

Although implants themselves can’t decay, you must #clean the #bone and #gums #surrounding it so as to properly maintain your overall oral health and to #increase the #lifespan of dental implant.
Avoid smoking, Use #non-abrasive toothpastes & #mouthwash, avoid #formulas with stannous fluoride, sodium fluoride, #baking #soda, stain removers & #smoker’s toothpaste.
Brush implant twice daily with soft toothbrush, it can be #manual, #electric, #sonic, #sulcabrush or end #tuft brush.
Use nylon coated #proxa-brushes or #interdental brushes to clean hard to reach areas surrounding implants.
You can also use #soft picks and #rubber tip stimulators.
#Metal picks which are available over the counter should be #avoided as they can #scratch implant surface & create area for #bacterialcolonization.
When it comes to #flossing use #un-waxed tape/implant specific #floss or select a type that will not #shred or leave #particles behind.
