PLAQUE & TAR-TAR

#Plaque is a thin layer of colorless or pale-yellow #bacterial film that gradually starts to form on tooth surface within 12 hours of #brushing. Plaque can be easily removed by your regular oral care #routine.

Whereas #tar-tar is hard, crusty, yellow or brown colored deposit which forms when the plaque #mineralizes if you are not maintaining proper oral #hygiene. Tar-tar can only be removed professionally by your dental care provider.

Plaque and tar-tar build up if ignored may cause #gum #disease and other dental #issues.

To prevent plaque and tar-tar build maintain your regular visit to the dental office every three to six months for dental #cleaning, invest in a good #fluoridated #toothpaste and a soft #bristle #toothbrush and replace it every three to six months or when the bristles #fray, brush your teeth twice in a day, #floss at least once daily, complete your oral care routine with a #mouthwash recommended by the #dentist, maintain a well balanced #diet and #avoid #binging in between #meals.
