Cavities on teeth once formed are irreversible, in initial stages it can appear as white spot which can be treated with fluoride application by your dentist, at later stage the dentist will remove the decayed portion and restore it with a filling.
If it has gone deeper into tooth reaching nerves and blood vessels, then you might need a root canal therapy or possibly an extraction.
Your dentist will also be able to tell you which of the different  types of cavities you have smooth surface, Pit and Fissure or Root.
Once a cavity has penetrated the dentin, you won’t be able to get rid of it at home.
Many dental problems, even deep cavities, develop without any pain or other symptoms. Regular dental checkups are the best way to catch a cavity before it gets worse. Early diagnosis means easier treatment.
