SUFFERING FROM BAD BREATH
ARE YOU SUFFERING FROM BAD BREATH?
In most cases having a
BAD BREATH
isn’t serious and it is usually preventable, but if it lasts for weeks then it might be a sign of an underlying problem which could require medical attention.
Food and beverages having strong odors like garlic, onions, coffee, alcohol are the common offenders to cause foul odor in mouth, but that is temporary.
Having poor oral hygiene maintenance, suffering from dry mouth, any infection in mouth, smoking, breathing from mouth, sinusitis, and medical conditions like diabetes, gastric problem, lung, and liver and kidney diseases are some of the common causes of chronic bad breath.
To combat foul odor, start with maintaining proper oral care like brushing twice and flossing once a day, include more fruits and vegetables and less of meat in your diet, chew sugar free chewing gum with xylitol to increase saliva flow in mouth, drink more water, avoid tobacco of any kind & maintain your regular visits to the dental office at least twice a year.
The dentist can help you follow a proper treatment (Bad Breath!) plan depending upon your diagnosis, and he can also advise whether you might need to consult a physician.
